About the Position:

The Residential Supervisor is responsible for planning and organizing the daily structure and schedule of the therapeutic milieu, and for supervising direct care personnel in the implementation of daily routines and tasks. The Supervisor is a member of the management team, and functions as the essential liaison between program management and direct care staff.  In the absence of the Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director, the Supervisor functions as the administrator in charge.

This position is housed at Harbor Family Services in Rockport, ME.

The Ideal Candidate Would:

·         All duties and responsibilities of Residential Counselors, including direct care to/for residents

·         Coordinates daily schedule, and delegates direct care staff assignments

·         Oversees completion of appropriate direct care documentation including Incident Reports, Progress Notes, Case Conference Reports, 1:1 Notes, C-Log

·         Coordinates residents’ transportation to and from school, appointments, and home visits

·         Participates in planning and implementation of group recreation and activity programs

·         Participates in development of house rules and in implementation of the level/privilege system

·         Supervises residents’ use of phone, and phone calls as appropriate

·         Provides active leadership as a role model and coach for direct care staff

·         Conducts formal individual supervisions with Residential Counselors and maintains accurate written documentation of individual supervision

·         Performs annual evaluations of Residential Counselors

·         Other duties/responsibilities determined by the Program Director(s)

Education Requirements

·         High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelors Degree preferred

·         1 year Direct care experience with adolescents, residential experience preferred 

General Requirements

·         Ability to work well in both direct care and management teams

·         Ability to contribute to management team program analysis, problem-solving and planning

·         Ability to motivate, guide and direct coworkers

·         Ability to work closely with clinical staff

·         Strong communication skills

·         Strong capability to make decisions

·         Knowledge and ability to implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strategies, including physical restraints when appropriate

·         Valid Driver’s License
