E-Rate Grant Funds Awarded

Sweetser's Development Office received a Funding Commitment Decision Letter today approving $55,326 for reimbursements for telecommunication and internet services for Saco and Belfast schools for the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.

The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund makes discounts available to eligible schools and libraries to ensure that they have access to affordable services.

To be eligible, applicants submit a series of complex FCC forms. After Sweetser pays its telephone and internet bills in full to providers such as Verizon, Time Warner Cable and Mid-Maine Telecom, Sweetser will then be reimbursed by Universal for a portion of those invoices.
