PROTEA Behavioral Health Services, a division of Sweetser, dedicated its newest facility on Main Street in Sanford on November 28 with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by members of the Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce and municipal officials. PROTEA will provide outpatient therapy for children, adults and families seeking treatment for emotional or behavioral issues. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with additional appointments available by request. Currently, there are no waiting lists for people seeking treatment.

New outpatient staff clinicians were on hand to mingle with members of the public and to offer tours of the Main Street facility. “We are delighted to expand our reach to southern York County to fill a critical community need and look forward to serving the people of the greater Sanford area,” said Alex Tessmann, Sweetser’s executive vice president of the PROTEA division.
