Special Conference May 8 on the Recovery Process and Engaging the Client

BRUNSWICK—The Sweetser Training Institute presents a special conference with Marianne Farkas in Brunswick on Tuesday, May 8.

The Recovery Process, 9 a.m. to noon

Providing a review of the empirical knowledge underlying the vision of recovery, this workshop outlines the key issues involved in recovery and ways providers can ensure that they are maximizing the service they deliver.

Engaging the Client, , 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Recovery requires a change in the basic relationship between provider and client. In a recovery process, the client is the expert. This workshop will provide strategies providers can use for engaging clients and will explore the factors that help and hinder engagement, as well as ways for enhancing client/provider relationships.

Marianne Farkas is Director of Training and Dissemination and Associate Professor for Boston University’s Center of Psychiatric Rehabilitation. She has authored numerous articles and has presented keynote speeches throughout the world on recovery and engagement of clients.
