25th Annual Sold on Kids Auction

Sweetser Auction Creates Sunshiny Days

Sweetser’s 25th Annual Sold on Kids Auction, presented by KeyBank, raised more than $114,000 to benefit Sweetser programs serving children, adults, and families throughout Maine. This year’s theme was “Creating Sunshiny Days”. Over 400 people attended the event, held on May 12th at the South Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks. A record number of silent and live auction items were generously donated by local businesses and Sweetser friends. Auctioneer Bill Zafirson did another outstanding job auctioning off these items to the highest bidders.

A special paddle raising activity highlighted our Experiential Program at Sweetser’s Eslie J. Parquette School in Saco. Guests enjoyed a video presentation showcasing students preparing maple syrup and working on the campus farm that recently aired on WCSH6.

Master of Ceremonies host and WCSH6 Sports Director, Lee Goldberg, entertained the crowd with a game of “Heads & Tails” to raffle off the Day’s Jewelers diamond and a fun “Name that Tune” contest. In the end, Claudia Henry was the Everlon diamond knot necklace winner and Jessica Demers won the 50/50 raffle. The big winner however, was Sweetser and the clients we serve.

Mark your calendar for next year’s event on Friday May 11, 2018!
