- Recognizing early and developing warning signs of suicide risk in others
- Approaching, intervening, and offering hope to someone who is contemplating suicide
- Connecting those in need to appropriate mental health supports, including information for mental healthcare resources across Maine
Taught by certified QPR Instructors from Sweetser, licensed through the QPR Institute.
Sweetser, the Sanford-Springvale Rotary Club, and SCAE are offering the following QPR Gatekeeper training:
- Wednesday June 18th, 2025 - In-Person, 4:30pm - 6:30pm

Training registration is First-Come, First-Served. One registration per person per email. Training participants must be 18 or older.
Thanks to a federal grant through the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA OMB 0930-0395), Sweetser offers QPR Gatekeeper and other mental health awareness trainings for FREE to Maine residents through our FREE Mental Health Awareness Training program. QPR Gatekeeper Training can be credited on completion as 1.5 professional development hours with employer approval; this training is not eligible for credit as continuing education units (CEUs) for professional licensure in Maine.
