Description

This workshop will include psychoeducation on the history of autism and ADHD, its evolution, and current clinical understanding. Participants will explore common, yet subtle and often overlooked, traits and the cultural mechanics of autism and ADHD.   Time will be spent on skill development to identify and work with autistic and ADHD traits, support neurodivergent clients, and build a repertoire of neurodiverse language and skills. Objectives include increasing understanding of neurodiversity, developing ADHD and autism-affirming lens, fostering cultural competence and sensitivity, and enhancing client-therapist collaboration.

This workshop offers a comprehensive, research-informed approach to supporting neurodivergent clients. Participants will explore evidence-based clinical tools, assessment strategies, and interventions tailored to individuals with autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergent profiles. Content will emphasize a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming framework, highlighting subtle and often overlooked traits, and providing practical strategies to enhance client engagement and therapeutic outcomes. Clinicians will leave equipped to provide care that is both affirming and skillful, supporting neurodivergent clients in a collaborative and empowering manner.
