Description

Attunement between therapist and client (also referred to as “the felt experience” of each) are central components of presence—and sharing laughter with our clients is a potent shortcut to that attunement! Improv offers a highly effective way to bring a welcome levity to the weight of our therapeutic work. In this class, you will have the opportunity to explore and grow your presence through improv games and exercises that will:

  • Allow you to experience the effects of “mindful play” for yourself and give you an understanding as to how and why it is so supportive of your work
  • Give you a take-home toolbox of games to play with your clients, helping them to be in the moment, reduce anxiety and overthinking, embrace imperfection, expand their range of emotions, better attend to nonverbal communication, build empathy, ask for and accept help, and more
  • Give you a day of laughter and rejuvenation!
