Training Presenters

  • Nikki Yardy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and trained in EMDR. She’s been working in the mental health field since 2009 serving women and high risk youth in a variety of settings. She’s skilled in treating single incident, complex, and developmental trauma, focusing per private practice on treating women with complex trauma histories. She is the founder and owner of Virago Wellness, a women’s counseling center in Southern Maine and in recovery from complex trauma.

  • Patrice Lockhart, MD

    Patrice is a board-certified psychiatrist who serves as Medical Director of the New England Eating Disorders (NEED) Program which recently moved to Sweetser. She loves her work almost as much as her family and making music.

  • Patricia Ledoux, LCPC-CC

    Patricia started working with Violence No More as an undergraduate intern in 1999. She stayed on as a co-facilitator for a number of years until she began working for DHHS as a Child Protective Caseworker and then a U.S Probation Officer. She was a probation officer for a total of 11 years (between federal and state). She returned to Violence No More as a graduate intern in 2019 and has stayed since that time. For the past year and a half, Patricia has also worked as a clinician primarily with individuals with problematic sexual behaviors and individuals who have used violence or aggressive behavior.

  • Rebekah McIntyre, MSW, LCSW

    Rebekah comes from a diverse clinical background spanning nearly 20 years in intensive trauma-focused work with children to comprehensive care for adults with intellectual disabilities and acquired brain injury. She incorporates critical thinking and a passion for social justice into all aspects of her work. A New England native, she also has a passion for alpine skiing and spending time outdoors.

  • Rob Lagos

    Rob has been a facilitator for the Adults with Asperger’s group, in Portland, Maine, for 10 years.  He is a computer programmer analyst and statistician. He is collaborating with Wilma Wake and Eric Endlich, Ph.D. in research and writing for book on older adults on the spectrum.

  • Shayne Croy, LCSW, LADC

    Shayne (he/him) has over 20 years of experience in mental health, including extensive work with high-risk adolescents. He received his Master’s in Social Work from University of Connecticut, an internationally leading program in the field. He is trained and certified in a number of recognized, evidence-based modalities for substance use, trauma, anger and aggression, depression, issues of gender and sexuality, and other challenging life issues. He has received specialized training and supervision in Brief Strategic Family Therapy under Olga Hervis, one of the model’s developers, and the Duluth Model in domestic violence interventions.  He is currently in private practice in Springvale, Maine. 

  • Shelby Levesque, LMFT has been practicing therapy for 17 years. President of Maine Association of Marriage & Family Therapy 2015-2016. Founder of Connections Rising, LLC, teaching social/ emotional/mental health to the public.

  • Susan Figueiredo, LMHC, LADC1, holds a MA in Clinical Psychology, from the University of Mass Dartmouth May 2005 and BA in Psychology, Minor Women’s Studies-University of NH, Plymouth.

    She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MA since 2006.

    Experience in Alcohol and Drug Treatment started in 1997 with the Fall River-based nonprofit working with 1st offender groups and mandated batter intervention groups.

    Worked for 4 years with the Department of Children and Families, first in a community-based program geared to services adolescents involved with DCF and then directly for the Department as a social worker. She then began working more closely with the opiate-dependent population, first as a clinician, then supervisor and Clinical Director.  After which she entered an executive management role as Regional Director of Operations. 

    Currently she holds a position of Chief Operating Officer for Behavioral Healthcare Organization and recently opened her own private practice.   

    While maintaining this full time career, she has had periods of time working in Emergency Room Department and Community Crisis Center…All with the focus on identifying the needs of those with addictive disorders and educating those around her on how to best support these individuals.

  • Susan is a volunteer and intern manager with 21 years’ experience in volunteer and program management in the non-profit sector.  She is a certified MHFA trainer in Adult and Youth as well as the supplemental courses including; Law Enforcement, Higher Ed, Veteran’s, etc.  she manages  the volunteer department and is responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers and interns, as well as growing the department to new levels. Susan has a degree in Criminal Justice, and began her career working for 10 years in Law Enforcement.  Her 21 years include working at Girl Scouts where she became certified as a Train the Trainer and Special Olympics.  Susan has trained other courses both at the state leadership conferences, and nationally.

  • Teresa L. King, LCPC

    Teresa earned a Bachelors in Social Work, and Masters in Counseling at Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa Oklahoma. After graduating, Teresa returned to the coast of Maine and took a position as a Children’s Services Caseworker, for the State of Maine Department of Human Services in Ellsworth, Maine. While there, she earned her clinical counseling license. After leaving the Department of Human Services, Teresa worked at Crossroads Christian Counseling Center in Bangor Maine. In 1996 she opened her private practice in Northeast Harbor, Maine.

    Additionally, Teresa was given the opportunity to join the clinical staff at Acadia Family Center, in Southwest Harbor Maine, in 2016. Teresa continues providing counseling services at both locations.
