Description

The study and consideration of Special Populations impacted by addiction and addictive disorders is vital.   Various aspects of the client’s identity may and can influence the client’s substance using behavior, the responsiveness to treatment, and the recovery process. These factors include race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, and the presence of co-occurring disorders including trauma. Come learn about specific challenges and strengths within these populations so that you can support effective approaches to service delivery.
