Description
- Recognize early and developing warning signs of suicide risk in others
- Approach, intervene, and offer hope to someone who is contemplating suicide
- Connect people in need to appropriate mental health supports, including resources for Maine and US National mental healthcare options and services
Instructed by certified QPR Trainers from Sweetser, nationally licensed through the QPR Institute. Completion of this training awards QPR Gatekeeper certification through the QPR Institute, valid for 1 year.
Sweetser is offering the following virtual sessions of QPR Gatekeeper Training:

- Fri. March 27, 2026 @ 10:30am-12:00pm

These virtual QPR Gatekeeper Training sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams webinar.

Registration for these QPR Gatekeeper Training sessions close 1 business day prior to the training date.
Training registration is First-Come, First-Served. One registration per person per email. Training participants must be 18 or older. Thanks to a federal grant through the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Sweetser offers QPR Gatekeeper and other mental health awareness trainings for FREE to Maine residents through our FREE Mental Health Awareness Training program. QPR Gatekeeper Training can be credited on completion as 1.5-hours Professional Development with employer approval; this training is not eligible for credit as Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for professional licensure in Maine.
