"We have to have some grace with ourselves. We get focused on traditions and we have a lot going on," said Kristie Worster, Sweetser's chief program officer. "This year, I'm very excited about the holidays. But some years, I can be a little grinchy, and so I may have to forgo or modify a tradition and then give it my all the next year."

The holidays are a lot. It’s okay to not be “on” all the time. ✨

With 41% of Americans reporting higher stress levels this season, we’re sharing expert advice with @wmtwtv from Kristie Worster, Sweetser’s Chief Program Officer, on how to navigate the pressure.

Common stress triggers: 💰 Financial pressure 🗓️ Overpacked schedules 🏠 Family dynamics 💔 Grief and loss

The takeaway: Boundaries are a gift to yourself. Whether it’s saying “no” to an invite or asking to keep politics off the dinner table, your mental health comes first.

Every Maine child should be able to enjoy the light of the holiday season. We are grateful to our friends Jon, Joe, and Courtney with @1019por, the team at @whoopie_1009, and their many listeners for supporting the youth we serve at Sweetser. Every year, they help fulfill the holiday wishes of children in our residential, crisis, and educational programs. THANK YOU! They had a little visit today at the radio station from our resident Sweetser elf, Justin. 🎁

Sweetser has been awarded a $3,500 grant from the Town & Country Federal Credit Union Maine's Better Neighbor Fund!

Our friends at the credit union awarded grants totaling nearly $30,000 in 2025 to eight deserving non-profits that received the most votes from the public during their contest.

This vital funding will directly support our mission to strengthen mental health services for youth and families throughout Maine. A huge thank you to Town & Country FCU and to everyone who voted for Sweetser daily, making this possible!

At a reception held at their Scarborough headquarters, Sweetser’s Chief Communications Officer, Justin Chenette, accepted the grant alongside the other nonprofits from Town & Country FCU’s President & CEO, Dave Libby.

We were proud to have partnered with the @la_metro_chamber as a drop-off location for their annual “Stuff the Bus” holiday campaign! 🎁

The items were collected at our Hope & Healing Center in Lewiston. These donations will help bring some holiday joy to local families, children, seniors, and pets this season. The donated items will be distributed to support those who need them most in the area.

Thanks to everyone who donated and to our team in Lewiston for being a drop-off location!
