"It has to be prescribed by a doctor. But there's no hard and fast rules about who can't get it and who can," Kaplan said. "The concern is some doctors will not do a screening for eating disorders." Kaplan noted that healthcare workers treating eating disorders have just started seeing more patients adversely affected by weight loss drugs, making treatment more difficult. For patients with anorexia or who have a distorted view of their body image, they may seek out the drug, looking to speed up weight loss to unhealthy levels.

Between work demands, school schedules, and family commitments, friendships often slip to the bottom of many parents’ to‑do lists. But mental health experts say staying connected with friends isn’t just a luxury — it’s essential for emotional wellbeing.

On a recent episode of @wgme's Raising Me parenting podcast, Joanne Grant, our Chief Growth Officer, joined host Adrienne Stein to explore how adult friendships shift throughout the parenting journey. Whether you’re in the thick of sleepless newborn nights or navigating the quiet of an empty nest, Grant says friendships play a critical role in reducing stress, easing feelings of isolation, and even strengthening how we show up as parents.
