🎉 We're officially open! 🎉

Sweetser is thrilled to announce the opening of our SupportME Peer Center in Brunswick.

✂️🎀We celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony joined by legislative, business, and community leaders alongside our friends at the @bath_brunswick_topsham_chamber and @coast931's @blakehayes.

🏡 This is Maine's 6th peer center and the ONLY one serving Brunswick and the Midcoast region—including Sagadahoc, Knox, Waldo, and Lincoln Counties.

💙 What we offer: A judgment-free, welcoming environment for connection, community, and healing. The center is staffed by individuals with lived experience who truly understand and provide daily peer-run groups, life skills workshops, and one-on-one support.

100% FREE – No payment, no insurance, no barriers. Just come as you are.

📍 329 Bath Road, Brunswick (next to our Hope & Healing Center) 🕐 Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM 📞 207-373-3005 📧 PeerCenter@sweetser.org

🚨 NEW OP-ED! 🚨

Don’t miss today’s powerful piece in the @portlandpressherald: “Why peer support transforms recovery for Mainers.”

Our Director of Recovery Services, Alaina Knox, explains why lived experience is the crucial ingredient in the healing process.

As Alaina writes: “Recovery from mental health challenges or substance use is not a solitary journey, yet stigma and isolation often make it feel that way. Traditional clinical care, while essential, can sometimes miss a crucial element: the unique perspective that comes from lived experience.”

Peer support provides that essential bridge of authentic human connection and hope. Read the full opinion piece in the Press Herald and their sister newspapers across the state. (LINK IN BIO)
