Support Sweetser. Make a Gift.

Notice to Donors:You may have read that the donor databases of many nonprofit organizations were part of a breach of Blackbaud. Though Sweetser uses this software developed for organizations involved in social good, we want you to know that Sweetser’s information was not part of that data breach.

Sweetser has a proud legacy of helping people find promising futures, and depends greatly on the generosity of others to support its mission and ongoing work.

Sweetser offers a variety of ways for individuals, corporations, businesses, and foundations to give. Providing financial support has a significant impact on the lives of many Maine residents in need of mental health services.

Opportunities to support Sweetser include:

In addition to knowing that your gift is helping Maine’s children and families in need, you can also benefit in tangible ways. All contributions to Sweetser are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Service.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)

During these difficult times, there are financial incentives to encourage giving in 2020. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) is expanding charitable contributions that can benefit donors filing 2020 taxes by increasing an individual refund, reducing a pay-back amount, or helping a company receive a tax boost.

The changes include the allowance of partial above the line deduction for charitable contributions up to $300 of cash contributions, whether taxpayer itemizes deductions or not.

Modification of limitations on charitable contributions during 2020 increases limitations on deductions for charitable contributions by individuals who itemize, as well as corporations.

  • For individuals, the 60-percent of adjusted gross income limitation is suspended for 2020
  • For corporations, the 10-percent limitation is increased to 25 percent of taxable income

The mother of a young child on the Saco campus became tearful when speaking about how wonderful the staff were. It had been a difficult time for the family while their child was here, but the mother felt the staff genuinely cared about and supported (the child), and also made the mother feel welcome on the campus. Thank you to Residential Staff!
