Description
Both therapists and clients naturally operate from scripts – ones learned in clinical training or in life experience. Such norms and socialization can inhibit the creative exploration of presenting problems in the clinical setting, restricting spontaneous thought and authentic expression. Introducing improvisational games into therapy, by definition, breaks the traditional script between counselors and clients.
The best news is that it’s also a lot of fun! In this class you will take part in improv-based games and exercises that will:
- Give you a day of laughter and rejuvenation.
- Teach extraordinarily playful techniques to help both you and your clients to be more open to uncertainty, trust in the moment, risk greater authenticity, listen more expertly, share laughs together—to ultimately deepen the counselor-client bond.
- Give you a take-home “toolbox” of games to play with your clients and colleagues.
Join us for a day of pure exploration and come away with a newfound appreciation for how brilliantly creative you (and other people) are!
