I am an LADC with 35 years of sobriety, and that gift is why I do this work. I want others to find it too. My career spans PHP, IOP, and outpatient care in Maine and California. I believe recovery is not about becoming someone new- it is about recovering the best version of yourself. Helping clients on that journey is an honor and a joy.

Mallyssa C Day “Mallyss,” MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree in social work from Western New Mexico University. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation and Addictions Counseling at the University of Maine at Augusta. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should feel practical, grounding, and genuinely helpful in your day-to-day life. My approach is straightforward, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing.
Over the last several years, I’ve worked with people facing anxiety, depression, trauma histories, high stress, attention and impulse-control challenges, and major life transitions. I help clients understand their patterns, build skills they can use immediately, and regain a sense of stability and control. Whether we’re working on emotional regulation, coping strategies, relationship boundaries, or recovery after long-term stress or trauma, I focus on what actually moves the needle forward.
I take a person-first, no-nonsense approach: we name what’s going on, make a plan, and work together to build real, measurable change. My style is supportive, honest, and grounded—I’m not here to judge you; I’m here to help you get where you want to go, one step at a time.
If you’re looking for a therapist who combines evidence-based tools with a practical, steady, and compassionate approach, I’d be happy to work with you.
