I have been involved in the health care field for nearly ten years. In 2007, I recieved a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of New England. As a mental health professional my greatest goal is to help improve the quality of life for those impacted from the barriers that both mental illness, and society has place on them. I have had the opportunity to provide clinical services in substance abuse facilities, juvenile detention facilities, residential treatment programs, in-patient psychiatric units, in-home counseling services (HCT), and day-treatment programs. Currently, I have a private practice providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescent's and adults. I have also trained at the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City (www.albertellis.org), where I earned a certification in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I utilize these clinical modalities, as well as other clinical modalities to treat most major mental illnesses, and psycho-social stressors.

I have been practicing sine 2013 independently. I love working with different problems and demographics to help individuals and families meet their mental health needs. I am a strong believer in self care and working through challenges in ways that help individuals feel better about themselves and their future.

I have worked as a clinical social worker in various settings and roles for over 30 years. Former executive director of Milestone Recovery in Portland, former Director of Public Health for the City of Portland, and years of clinical practice experience in private practice as well as agency settings. Former director of affiliate services for Sweetser. Primarily work with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health and substance use issues.

I have worked as a special educator/ both teacher and consultant, for twenty-three years before completing my thirty-nine year total tenure in education as a school counselor.
